The village centre of Blaricum is quite small. Nevertheless, it boasts several famous coffee bars and restaurants: De Hoop (traditional ice cream parlour with regional fame), The Red Sun (Asian Cuisine), Moeke Spijkstra (brown café) or Blushing (coffee and tea room of singer/entertainer Gordon). Blaricum is surrounded by fields, woods and heather, and it has a sand beach at the lake Gooimeer.

Since 2008 Blaricum is part of the Bel Combinatie, together with Eemnes and Laren.
