Living in Laren?
What first comes to mind when thinking of Laren, are the "rich & famous" of the Netherlands. However, unknown to many, Laren has a long tradition as an artists' village, with the Singer Museum as the widely respected centre of the exhibitions. The number of inhabitants of Laren is about 11.000.
The centre of Laren you will find several well-known restaurants, including Loetje, Mauve, the Bonte Paerd and the famous poffertjes stall on the Brink. There are also over 200 shops, including many luxury boutiques. Laren is surrounded by woods, heather, old grazing lands and fields.
Together with Eemnes and Blaricum, Laren is part of the Bel Combinatie since 2008.
