Living in Hilversum?

Hilversum is a small town in the province of North Holland.  It is also known as “Media City”, since many national broadcast organizations are based in Hilversum. The number of inhabitants in the municipality of Hilversum is around 91,000. Hilversum is centrally located in the Netherlands and is easily accessed by car or by public transportation.

Various buildings around the centre of Hilversum have been designed by the famous architects Dudok and Duiker. Examples are the town hall and the Zonnestraal estate. Hilversum is also surrounded by woods and heather.  The “Loosdrechtse plassen” lakes offer good sailing within cycling distance. For shopping or enjoying a bite to eat , visit the centre or the Gijsbrecht van Amstelstraat.  This is a vibrant shopping street full of local entrepreneurs located in Hilversum South.  Five golf courses (among which the famous “Hilversumse”, regular host of the Dutch Open) complete the attractions of the city.
